Crisp and delicious, this variety of carrot sure is showy! With purple skin and an orange core this carrot looks beautiful when cut into slices. While purple carrots were more common a thousand years ago, today the orange carrots reign supreme in popularity. However cosmic purple carrots bring the best of both worlds and bring both colors to the table. The flavor is described as sweet and a little spicy, while also being higher in antioxidants when compared to plain orange carrots.

Growing Instructions:
Plant after the threat of frost has passed in early spring in the full sun, or in an area with very little shade. The soil should be a sandy, well-drained loam. Heavier soils will cause the carrots to mature slowly and the roots will end up unattractive and rough.
Direct sowing is best as the taproot usually doesn’t respond well to replanting and stunts growth. Plant your carrots in rows that are 1 to 2 feet apart, seeds should be planted about a ½ inch deep and 1 to 2 inches apart. Wait for when your plants sprouts and when the they are 4 inches high, thin the plants to 2 inches apart, and thinning again later to 4 inches apart.
