Trichosanthes kirilowii, or better known as ‘Chinese cucumber’ or ‘Chinese snake gourd’ is a flowering plant in the family Cucurbitaceae. It is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine, where it is said to drain heat and generate fluids, clear and drain lung heat, transform phlegm, moisten lung dryness, and resolve toxicity.

Growing Instructions:
Plant in early spring or summer. It usually flowers from July to September, and the seeds ripen from September to October. Suitable for a variety of soil conditions (light/heavy, high/low PH), however it prefers well-drained soil. Does best with plenty of light, planting in full to part sun is recommended, avoid planting in the shade.
