These are beautiful melons with luscious deep-orange golden flesh that is sweet, juicy and fragrant. Hearts of Gold Melons originated in 1890, but this variety is considered one of the first true “modern” melons. Vigorous, prolific plants bear nearly round, medium-sized, 2-3 lb. fruits.

Growing Instructions:
Grows best in full sun. Direct sow the seeds 1 to 2 weeks after the last frost, planting 1/2 inch deep and 1″ apart, in rows 5′ apart. Thin to 2 to 3 plants per hill. If starting indoors to transplant, start the seeds 1/2 inch deep in peat pots (2″ square or bigger) 2 to 4 weeks before moving outside
