The ideal pumpkin for carving and cooking, bright orange color and a thick rind makes for attractive pumpkin. Great versatility makes this quite the well rounded (and sometimes oblong) pumpkin.

Well Watered, Full sun.
For best results direct sow seeds. Plant 4-6 seeds in groups about 3 inches apart. Each group should be several feet apart, leaving plenty of room for the vines to ramble. Cover with 1 inch of fine soil and lightly firm the soil, water in the seeds well. During the growing season pumpkins will want 1-2 inches of rain per week, and may need extra water during dry spells. Seeds will sprout after 1 to 2 weeks. Pumpkins are ready to harvest when the rinds are hard and a rich shade of orange.
