Perhaps best known for its use in Tabasco sauce, this pepper orginates from Mexico. The tabasco pepper is aactually a variety of the chili pepper species Capsicum frutescens, and produces a lot of peppers with a famous flavor. With its bushy growth combined with its peppers ripening from light green to orange to red, it’s also an attractive addition to any garden.

Growing Instructions: Full sun, moderate water. Protect from frost.
Seeds should be planted in spring once the threat of frost has passed, or 4-8 weeks early indoors. Plant seeds ¼ inch deep and cover with soil, lightly pressing on the top of the soil to keep them firmly in place. Keep seeds moist until germination, which usually occurs within a couple weeks. Once plants have two sets of true leaves they can be acclimated to the full sun, and then transplanted.
