Matt’s Wild Cherry
Solanum lycopersicum

Matt’s Wild Cherry is the hardest working cherry tomato we’ve ever grown. With a long, tall and sprawling growth habit this plant produces clusters of small deep red fruits that are round and smooth. With high sugar content these blow modern hybrids out of the water. Prolific producers for an heirloom, these soft fruits are best used immediately in salads, salsas or fresh of the vine. It is resistant to early blight and insects.

Origination: Mexico
Recommended uses: Food
Culinary Uses: – fresh salads, salsas

Height: indeterminate, needs staking
Hardiness: to 32 degrees, has survived frost when mature but experienced limb loss.
Flower Color: yellow

Characteristics:
A prolific heirloom producer of red smooth sweet tomatoes, they are excellent staked with a lovely sprawling habit on the ground when pests are controlled.

Maturity: 60 days

Name: Black from Tula
Scientific Name: Solanum Lycopersicum
Family: Solanaceae

A rare heirloom from Russia that’s quickly becoming one of the favorite black tomatoes on the market for both flavor and production. With a rich smoky taste these 8-12oz fruit are great fresh off the vine or canned for winter. The tomatoes have a smoky black body with green and brown shoulder that resist cracking but are still quite tasty even with cracks. The plants are very productive and disease resistant even in the heat, producing pounds and pounds of tomatoes. Our plants were literally falling over themselves with fruit so be warned these will need some serious staking.

Origination: Russia

Recommended Uses: fresh or canned
Height: indeterminate vine 6’+ in length
Hardiness: zones: warm season annual
Flower Color: yellow
Maturity: 70-80 days

Name: Lanakila yellow cherry tomato
Scientific Name: Solanum Lycopersicum
Family: Solanaceae

An heirloom selection by way of our friend Val from a seed swap we hosted, this delightful yellow cherry tomato was named for the place in Hawaii where she encountered it. Producing loads of ¼”-1/2” yellow tomatoes with white lacing on the bottom, they were one of the most productive tomatoes we’ve grown second only to Matt’s Wild. Sweet, bright and soft skinned these are perfect fresh or used in vinaigrettes or my favorite way is slightly blistered in the pan to caramelize some of sugars. We are excited to offer this unique variety and hope you love it as much as we have.

Origination: Hawaii

Recommended Uses: fresh, salads

Height: indeterminate vine 6’+
Hardiness: zones: warm season annual
Flower Color: yellow
Maturity: 70-80 days

Growing Instructions:

Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date in soilless starter mix. Sow seeds ¼” deep and keep moist and between 75-85 degrees until germination in 7-14 days. Cold temperatures slow down germination significantly. Transplant to 4” pot when two sets of true leaves show and plant is safe to work with. If weather is still cool and plant is getting leggy bump up to 1 gallon so tomato doesn’t become root bound. When weather is warm and frost date has passed, plant in full sun rich well-draining soil location. Space determinate varieties 1-2’ apart, indeterminate staked 2-3’ apart and indeterminate unstaked 3-4’ apart. Keep soil evenly moist throughout season but excess water causes cracking. Tomatoes prefer high nitrogen fertilizer when young and high phosphorus when setting fruit.
